About The Firm

Kilmer, Voorhees & Laurick, PC was established in 1985 on the principle that lawyers work best in an environment that encourages an open, creative philosophy for building professionalism and excellence in the art of advocacy. The firm was built on the vision of its founder, Jeff Kilmer, and founding partners Steve Voorhees and James Laurick. In addition to high standards of professional development, the founders encouraged a wholesome and family-oriented environment.

In 1986, Gregory Snook joined the firm bringing his unsurpassed legal research, analytical and writing skills to the firm. His contributions have led to many of the firm's victories.

In 1995, the firm moved from an indistinguishable high rise in downtown Portland to its present location on the southeast corner of N.W. 19th Avenue and Johnson Street. The Koehler House, named after its original owner, has provided a wonderful environment for a relaxed yet elegant and professional office space for the firm. It has become a focal point for the firm's identity, and has provided a warm and inviting atmosphere for many firm functions.

Over the many years of practice, the firm's culture has continued to promote a healthy, family atmosphere that emphasizes cooperation among management, attorneys and staff, alike.
